Spirit Catholic Radio will host Eucharistic Encounter events June 20-22, one in each diocese of Nebraska, to help celebrate and deepen faith in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist through Adoration, Eucharistic piety, teaching, and sacred music.
The first of the three events will be held Tuesday, June 20, at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd. in Lincoln, with doors opening at 5 p.m. for Eucharistic exhibits in Rectors’ Hall.
At 6:45 p.m., the liturgical events of the evening will begin in the church, with Bishop James Conley speaking first, followed by keynote speaker Father Malachy Napier, CFR, a USCCB appointed Eucharistic Revival preacher.
Confessions will be available from 5 to 10 p.m.
Eucharistic exhibitions in Rectors’ Hall will be available to view from 5 to 10 p.m. The exhibitions include the Vatican international exhibition “Eucharistic Miracles of the World,” created by Blessed Carlo Acutis, a relic for veneration, and a short video about his life. Carlo has been named a patron of the nationwide Eucharistic Revival initiative.
Apostolates and ministries from the parish and community will also be part of the exhibits in Rectors’ Hall to share information about their missions.
“At Cathedral, we’ve been anxiously anticipating this event and hope that on June 20th all attendees will experience a deeper encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist,” said Kathryn Mullin, communications and marketing manager for Cathedral Parish and School. “Groups such as our 9 a.m. Mass choir, the Knights of Columbus, the Legion of Mary, and our Perpetual Adoration program will be helping with preparations.”
Similar events will be held in Omaha and Grand Island June 21 and 22.
No registration is needed to attend the Eucharistic Encounter events. Event details can be found at spiritcatholicradio.com/encounter.
