Men and women of all ages are invited to the upcoming retreat, “Going Deeper,” with Father Michael McCabe at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House Sept. 22-24.

“God continuously pursues us and calls us to form a more deeply intimate relationship with Him,” said Father McCabe.

The retreat will allow people to “take a walk through their own stories” and see how God has constantly been pouring out His boundless love to each person; to see the times His wisdom and His voice are revealed through a person’s family and friends. Father McCabe will use the gift of storytelling to draw participants to understand and know the role of Jesus Christ in their own lives.

Father McCabe is the pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Lincoln. He has been a priest for 34 years. He has served at multiple parishes across the diocese, including St. Mary in Nebraska City, St. Teresa in Lincoln, St. Mary in Dawson and St. Anne in Shubert.

The retreat will begin with rosary and Mass at 8 p.m. on Friday, and end with Mass on Sunday, followed by lunch. Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House offers 50 single rooms, each with a private bath, and a peaceful atmosphere of prayer and recollection, situated on a spacious acreage near Waverly.

Other upcoming retreats at Our Lady of Good Counsel include “Rekindling Eucharistic Amazement” with Father Wade Menezes, CPM, Sept. 30-Oct. 1; “Living His Life Abundantly” with Johnnette (Benkovic) Williams Oct. 6-8; and a “Holiness for Moms” day of reflection with Father Christian Schwenka Oct. 21.
