Retreat with Fr. Wade Menezes Sept. 30-Oct. 1

Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly will host a two-day retreat, “Rekindling Eucharistic Amazement,” with Father Wade Menezes, CPM, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
All are invited to come rekindle their personal faith in the profound truths of the Eucharist, and to welcome the Eucharistic Lord and King into their lives as never before.
The Catholic Church teaches that the Eucharist “is the source and summit of the Christian life” (Second Vatican Council, Lumen Gentium, 11; CCC, 1324). The other sacraments, and all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. The Blessed Sacrament contains “the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely, Christ Himself, our Pasch.” (CCC, 1324).
The “Rekindling Eucharistic Amazement” retreat is unique in that Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House is offering a “VIP Celebration Dinner” ticket bundle in conjunction with the retreat. Not only will a person be able to attend a retreat and encounter Jesus Christ in solitude, but also to celebrate the 60-year anniversary for the retreat house, in an elegant evening of food, music, and talks.
With the bundle, the retreatant will stay overnight at the retreat house Friday, Sept. 29, after attending the celebration dinner that evening, with breakfast Saturday before the retreat starting at 9 a.m.
Father Wade Menezes, CPM, is a member of the Fathers of Mercy, a missionary preaching congregation based in Auburn, Ky. He was ordained a priest in 2000. He has preached extensively across the United States, Canada and Australia, and has written for several magazines and publications, including the National Catholic Register and Our Sunday Visitor. He is also the author of three books, and has appeared on several EWTN programs and series. Retreatants will receive a free copy of one of his books.
