The documentary “What is Love? Life’s Greatest Journey” will air in more than 700 movie theaters, including one night in Lincoln.
The film will play at the Marcus Grand Cinema 1101 P St., Monday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at https://ticketing.marcustheatres.com/ or https://www.fathomevents.com/events/What-Is-Love.
The film was produced by Paradisus Dei, developers of the “That Man is You” series, a men’s organization popular in parishes across the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln. The Knights of Columbus helped fund the movie, as well.
The full-length feature film is for those who desire to learn more about the concept of love in society. “Love holds the promise of joy and happiness, even paradise, but is fraught with challenge and pain,” a press release about the movie states. “We hunger deeply for love. In fact, the brain’s desire for love is as strong as the body’s desire for food.”
The documentary brings together scientific discovery, lived experience, enduring wisdom and an eternal vision to explore life’s deepest question, “What is love?” It explores what causes someone to fall in love with another person; how love can grow to sustain a relationship for decades; what can lead a person to forgive someone who has hurt them terribly; why parents would risk their lives to protect their children; and if there is a dimension of love that does not die, and outlives human beings.
