Father Craig Doty will lead a retreat Nov. 3-5 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly on “Inner Healing Prayer.”
Inner Healing Prayer led by the Holy Spirit is a powerful way for one to encounter the loving presence of Jesus and experience the Father’s love on that journey. The weekend retreat Nov. 3-5 will provide the opportunity for those who desire to receive Inner Healing Prayer to have a private prayer session with an experienced prayer team.
“Healing of the heart means living one’s true identity,” Father Doty explained, “as beloved daughter or son of the Father with greater freedom and joy—freedom to receive God’s love and to share it compassionately and fearlessly.”
The talks by Father Craig Doty will be aimed at preparing the hearts and minds of everyone participating in the Inner Healing Prayer experience. The final talk on Sunday will provide practical insights for continuing the journey of healing and transformation of the heart.
Prayer times will be provided by the Lincoln Equipping Team for both in-person and Zoom participants. If needed, additional prayer times will be arranged after the retreat is over. The Lincoln Equipping Team is a prayer and healing ministry whose mission is to empower Catholics to pray for one another and discover the healing power of Christ in their lives. This group was inspired by the work of the John Paul II Healing Center and the Encounter School of Ministry.
Father Doty, pastor of St. Mary Parish in Denton, is also director of the Lincoln Equipping team. The ministry was founded in the Lincoln Diocese after his own healing experience at the “Healing the Whole Person” conference given by the John Paul II Healing Center in Tallahassee, Fla.
Other upcoming retreats at Our Lady of Good Counsel include “Holiness for Moms” day of reflection with Father Christian Schwenka Oct. 21; “Growing in the Spirit” retreat with Father Michael Voithofer and Magnificat Nov. 17-19; and “Five Marian Stones and Consecration to the Immaculate” retreat with Father Elias Mary, F.I.
