‘Five Marian Stones and Consecration to the Immaculate’
Southern Nebraska Register
Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly will host a retreat Dec. 1-3, “Five Marian Stones and Consecration to the Immaculate.”
The retreat will be led by Nebraska native, Father Elias Mary, F.I.
“Of Mary, one can never say enough,” Father Elias said. “Devotion to Mary is absolutely essential and central to become an imitator of Christ and bring His love to the world.”
The retreat will walk through the four defined Marian Dogmas and a proposed fifth, taught through the contribution of Franciscans such as St. Maximilian Kolbe and Blessed John Duns Scotus (the “Marian Doctor”).
Father Elias Mary expressed a desire and love to “make Our Lady better known and loved, so that Jesus can be better known and loved, and bring about the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”
Father Elias Mary Mills, F.I. started discerning a religious vocation before graduating from Kearney State College. Attending Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Conn., he was introduced to the Franciscans of the Immaculate, and would join the religious order in 1993. He made his final profession of vows in 1999. During the Jubilee Year 2000, Father Elias was ordained a priest by Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz in Lincoln.
As a missionary priest, Father Elias has had many travels promoting devotion to Our Lady in Australia, Italy and across the United States.
Other upcoming retreats will be held: Nov. 3-5, “Inner Healing Prayer” with Father Craig Doty; Nov. 17-19, “Growing in the Spirit” women’s retreat; Dec. 7-10, men’s Spiritual Exercises with Regnum Christi, and Dec. 15-17, “Masses and Tears” with Father Jay Buhman.
