Bishop Neumann High School in Wahoo will host the Kyle Huelsing Band to “kick off” Catholic Schools Week Sunday, Jan. 28.

The concert will be held in the Bishop Neumann Gym, 202 S. Linden St. Wahoo, from 4 to 6 p.m.

All families from around the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln are invited to attend.

The Kyle Huelsing Band is a Catholic worship band based in St. Louis. The band has performed at the Steubenville Youth Conference the last several years. Many high school students around the diocese have seen the band perform at the conference.

“Our students have such a unique encounter with Christ at the Steubenville conference, especially during adoration,” explained Gery Kenney, campus minister at Bishop Neumann. “Our hope in bringing Kyle’s band to Bishop Neumann is to allow our parents and families to get the chance to be part of that encounter. It will be a great way to celebrate our Catholic schools!”

The concert will include a time of adoration with praise and worship music. It is open to anyone in the diocese and is family friendly. There is no cost, but free-will donations will be accepted.

Bishop Neumann will also have a Eucharistic procession on Monday of Catholic Schools Week. Parents are welcome to attend, and Kyle’s band will also play during that time.

Tuesday will mark “Teacher Appreciation Day,” with a faculty and staff breakfast. “Student Appreciation Day” will be Wednesday, and will include a Kahoot game, dodgeball and a talent show competition with all winning points being added to the Cavalier Cup competition of the school’s new community system.

Grandparents are invited to an all-school Mass on Thursday, and the week will end with a day off for students while all faculty from the Saunders County Schools will attend a retreat in Weston at St. John Nepomucene Church.
