The Nebraska Catholic Nurses organization will host a healthcare service project Saturday, Feb. 17, in Lincoln.

The event is open to all nurses and medical providers.

The morning will begin with an optional Mass at 9 a.m. in the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center, 329 N. 16th St., in Lincoln, and a street walk with homeless individuals from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Beginning at 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 1420 K St., participants will provide foot, hand and nail care to those in need; hand out donated supplies; and offer prayer and compassion.

Donations may be dropped off at Holy Family Medical Associates, 7121 Stephanie Ln., Suite 105, in Lincoln: hats and gloves, socks, toothbrushes and toothpaste, or monetary donations.

The Nebraska Catholic Nurses group, a member of the Catholic Medical Association, was started last year by Sister Joan Kolbe, M.S., Sister Faustina, M.S. and Dotti Easter of St. Benedict Parish in Nebraska City.
