Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach in Lincoln will participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring.

The Souper Bowl of Caring is a national event that has existed for more than 30 years. People from all 50 states are invited to give locally and make a collective impact on hunger while enjoying the biggest football game of the year.

Groups are encouraged to collect donations of cash or needed items for guests at Matt Talbot. Participants may form teams at churches, workplaces or schools, and create competitions to see who can collect the most pounds of food or cash.

Souper Bowl of Caring activities can happen anytime in January or February. Items needed include soup, cereal, oatmeal, pasta, pasta sauce, granola bars, canned beef and chicken, deodorant, wet wipes, and tampons.
