The Nebraska Catholic Nurses organization held its inaugural mission event Feb. 17.

Members of the Nebraska Catholic Nurses partnered with Christ in the City missionaries. Participants met for Mass at the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center, and held a “street walk,” delivering food and clothing to those in need in downtown Lincoln.

After the street walk, the group provided a foot clinic at St. Mary Church in Lincoln, washing feet and trimming nails. Nurses and students came from Lincoln, Omaha and surrounding communities to participate. The clinic was held just before the weekly Foodnet distribution at St. Mary Church.

The Nebraska Catholic Nurses group, a member of the Catholic Medical Association, was started last year by Sister Joan Kolbe, M.S., Sister Faustina, M.S. and Dotti Easter of St. Benedict Parish in Nebraska City.
