St. John the Apostle Parish in Lincoln will host a 21-and-over community barn dance Saturday, March 9, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in the Creekside Barn at Roca Berry Farm, 16531 S. 38th St., Roca.
The event begins with dance lessons at 6:30 p.m., and the dance at 7 p.m. Snacks will be provided and a cash bar will be available.
The dance will include line dancing, swing, polka, two-step and more. Attendees may dance to songs from the 1950s to the present.
Parishioner Kate Haden came up with the idea to host the barn dance. She said she was hoping to create something many age groups can enjoy.
She said she hopes the dance will allow people “to experience something that our culture has lost over the years: people coming together to dance in a fun and totally wholesome way.”
Tickets are $10 per person and must be purchased online at stjohnslincoln.com/barndance or by scanning the QR code. The dance is sponsored by St. John’s Knights of Columbus and Altar Society.
