Mass and Eucharistic procession to be followed by celebration with
bounce houses, games, food trucks and more
Bishop James Conley invites all to join him for an outdoor Corpus Christi Mass and Eucharistic procession Sunday, June 2, at 10:30 a.m., at the Waverly Catholic Center.
“Encountering Christ in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is an invitation, for all people, to deepen their relationship with the Lord,” the bishop said. “In adoration, we grow in unity and friendship with him—we learn to hear his voice, to know his will, and, most especially, to know and trust the power of his love.”
The Mass and procession are completing a year commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Catholic Center, which includes the Marian Sisters’ Marycrest Motherhouse, Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House, and Villa Marie Home and School.
Limited seating will be provided for the outdoor Mass at the bell tower. Those who are able may join in a Eucharistic procession around the grounds of the Catholic Center, with stops at the Marian Sisters’ motherhouse and Villa Marie School, concluding at the retreat house. There will be bounce houses, games for kids and adults, food trucks, and the Eucharistic Miracles display, courtesy of Spirit Catholic Radio.

The national Eucharistic Revival is a three-year initiative of the U.S. Bishops to help strengthen belief in the Eucharist as the Real Presence of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, is celebrated with Eucharistic processions as a sign of faith, to adore and worship Jesus in His Body and Blood.
During this time of Eucharistic Revival, Bishop Conley prays that all Catholics will strive to attend a Corpus Christi procession, either at the Waverly Catholic Center or at parishes.
“Kneeling before Christ in the Eucharist, all of us find love,” he said.
