The Family Life Office will host a “Date Night” at Capitol View Winery in Lincoln July 25, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The event is designed to be a fun, free event for married and engaged couples, to strengthen marriages and spend time together as spouses.

There will be appetizers available, a talk at 7:30 p.m., and an opportunity to buy and try wines at the winery.

“Sometimes it’s difficult to get away and spend intentional time as a married couple, so we wanted to create the opportunity to do that in a fun and formative way,” said Marilyn Klein, special events coordinator for the Family Life Office. “What better way to spend time with your husband or wife than enjoying some wine and appetizers together, listening to an interesting talk, and taking in the beautiful scenery surrounding Capitol View on a lovely summer evening?”

This is the event’s fourth year, and third at Capitol View. The speakers – back by popular demand – are Max and Molly Chapman, who will present “Mercy in Marriage.”

The Chapmans met in Chicago, while Molly served as a Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) missionary, then married and moved to Lincoln where Max served as a missionary with FOCUS at UNL for seven years. Max is now the executive director of More Mercy, an ecumenical non-profit for the Diocese of Lincoln. Molly stays home with their four children.
