Both men and women are invited to Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House near Waverly Aug. 9-11, for a weekend deliverance and healing retreat.
The “Unbound: Freedom in Christ” retreat allows hearts to open more fully and respond to Jesus’ invitation of living the abundant life. The retreat is an invitation for God’s healing love to touch one’s hurts and break the bonds of pain and wounds that take a hold one’s life, spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally.
“The retreat will be an opportunity to encounter Christ, to experience the healing of Christ, who comes to reunite us with the Father,” Father Coulter explained. “Jesus’ ministry was one of healing, one of deliverance. We can encounter the overwhelming love of God who can enter into the pains and wounds of life.”
Wounds can include feeling lost in one’s faith, anxiety, and hopelessness. Jesus wants all to experience true freedom from such wounds, Father Coulter said. Attending the retreat can get to the heart of wounds and help participants find the healing they desire.
Based on the book “Unbound: A Practical Guide to Deliverance” by Neal Lozano, the retreat employs five “keys” that enable people to experience a profound conversion and live in greater freedom: Repentance and Faith, Forgiveness, Renunciation, Command and the Father’s Blessing. More information about Unbound ministry is available at lincolndiocese.org/unbound.
Prayer teams from the Unbound ministry will be available at the retreat to pray with participants using the five keys. Retreatants are asked to have read the first nine chapters of the Unbound book if they would like to have a member of the ministry team pray with them.
Father Coulter has been the director of Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House for 11 years. Ordained a priest in 1999, he received a Canon Law degree from Santa Croce University in Rome, and was pastor in Ashland and Greenwood for nine years. Father Coulter said he has personally experienced the fruits of Unbound, and he desires to share the fruits with others.
