The inaugural “Dawson Scramble” was held June 26 at Woodland Hills Golf Club in Lincoln, to benefit Villa Marie Home and School for Exceptional Children.
The benefit was hosted by Jim Essay, Walter Zink and Matt Jilek, and more than 80 people participated.
“Today we celebrated and recognized Monsignor Dawson’s 95th birthday and his vision 60 years ago to establish Villa Marie,” said Msgr. John Perkinton, chief administrative officer of the school.
He was on hand to provide spiritual guidance and provide putting help for teams, on a designated hole.
The top team, comprised of Aaron May, Father Steven Mills, Father Jim Meysenburg and Luke Hicks, sponsored by Aaron and Rebecca (Dawson) May, won a six-hole playoff over the runner-up, Team Union Bank & Trust with Doris Robertson, Chris Wagner, Keith May and T.J. Hansen participating.
