Father Craig Clinch will direct a silent retreat, “Remember the Embers,” Sept. 20-22 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly.

The weekend will explain the Church tradition of Ember Days, days set apart in each of the four seasons of the year, as special days of prayer and thanksgiving. Those attending the retreat will learn how the Ember Days help people make use of all four forms of prayer: adoration, contrition, thanksgiving and supplication.

Father Clinch is pastor of St. Cecilia Parish in Hastings and director of Hispanic Ministry in the Hastings area.

The retreat starts at 8 p.m. Friday with the rosary and Mass, and ends Sunday with Mass and lunch at noon. Masses for the Ember Days will be Traditional Latin Masses. The retreat is open to men or women of all ages.
