Event led by Bishop Robert Finn with Knights of the Holy Eucharist
Southern Nebraska Register
A silent retreat for men and women will be held Oct. 25-27 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly, featuring Bishop Robert Finn.
The retreat is the seventh organized by the Knights of the Holy Eucharist.
Founded in 1998 by the late Mother Mary Angelica of EWTN, the Knights of the Holy Eucharist are a group of Franciscan religious brothers dedicated to fostering reverent devotion to God in the Most Blessed Sacrament. They serve the Diocese of Lincoln, engaging with multiple parishes to enrich the spiritual lives of the community.
Bishop Emeritus Robert Finn, who served as bishop of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph from 2004 to 2015, will guide attendees through a deep exploration of the Eucharist. Currently the chaplain to the School Sisters of Christ the King in Lincoln, Bishop Finn brings extensive pastoral experience, having been ordained a priest in 1979 and previously working as a high school teacher and administrator.
“This retreat will be a time to remember the gift of the Eucharist, to grow in love and devotion for this great mystery,” Bishop Finn stated. “As we become more aware of the real presence of Jesus Christ, we join in adoring Him: Jesus, my Lord, my God, my all.”
The retreat begins Friday with a rosary and Mass at 8 p.m., and concludes on Sunday with a final Mass and lunch at noon. Participants can expect a range of activities designed to deepen their spiritual experience, including meditations led by the retreat master, opportunities for the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation, and extended periods for silence and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House offers a peaceful sanctuary on its expansive grounds, featuring 50 single rooms, each with a private bath. Limited double rooms are available upon request, ensuring comfortable accommodations for all attendees.

The Oct. 25-27 retreat is an invitation to step away from the busyness of everyday life, immerse oneself in prayer, and foster a deeper relationship with God through the Eucharist, making it a not-to-miss event for those seeking spiritual renewal.
