St. Catherine Parish in Indianola will host “The Upper Room: Life in the Spirit Retreat” Oct. 18 and 19.
Sessions will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and continue Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The retreat will be led by the Disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ from Prayer Town, Texas.
Parishioner Debbie Dolan said she attended a “Life in the Spirit” seminar led by the Disciples years ago in Ogallala.
“It was a wonderful encounter with our Lord,” she said. “My desire is for others to have a closer relationship with Christ. With all that we are dealing with today, we need the Holy Spirit’s guidance and to set hearts on fire.”
The retreat is open to anyone interested in growing in the spiritual life, in deepening a personal relationship with Jesus, or anyone who wishes to experience a fuller release of the gift of the Holy Spirit as received in the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation. A $15 registration fee is due on arrival and free-will offerings will be accepted. The evening meals and Saturday noon meal are provided. Motels are available in McCook and Cambridge just 10-15 minutes from Indianola.
