Actor Jim Caviezel will be the guest speaker at the Nebraska Gala for Life Friday, Jan. 31;
author Elizabeth Gillette will speak at the Nebraska Walk for Life Saturday, Feb. 1.
Nebraska Right to Life (NRTL) has announced plans for “Nebraska’s largest pro-life weekend of the year.”
Jim Caviezel will be the guest speaker at the Nebraska Gala for Life Friday, Jan. 31, 2025 in La Vista. Caviezel, known for his role as Jesus in “The Passion of the Christ,” and as Tim Ballard in “Sound of Freedom,” is a staunch pro-life advocate and Catholic who promotes his love of God, family, and country. He supports various charities focused on serving and protecting women, children, families, and the unborn.
The 2025 Nebraska Walk for Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 1 in Lincoln. The event – in which participants gather at the Nebraska State Capitol for a peaceful walk to the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel – draws thousands of pro-lifers to stand up for preborn babies and their mothers. They pray and walk in remembrance of those who have lost their lives to abortion, and those who have suffered because of abortion.
The guest speaker at the Walk for Life will be author Elizabeth Gillette. She writes and speaks about how love conquers the greatest tragedy of this era: abortion.
“Like so many women,” NRTL explained in a press release, “Elizabeth has experienced abortion first-hand. The traumatic experience shook her faith and caused devastating side effects. Through the saving grace of Jesus Christ, she found healing and forgiveness. She is now the mother of four living children and a passionate advocate for life.”
The Walk will begin at the north steps of the State Capitol. A short rally will begin at 10 a.m. –immediately following Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church. After the rally, the walk will proceed to the final destination at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel at 333 S. 13th St. There, participants will hear from the guest speaker, Gillette, and support pro-life organizations at their booths.
There is no bake sale this year, but food and drink will be available at the hotel. Donations will be accepted, but Saturday’s Walk for Life is a free event.
NRTL said the Friday evening Nebraska Walk for Life Gala is an opportunity to celebrate the state’s recent historic victory, defeating the abortion industry’s ballot initiative and establishing constitutional protections for the unborn.
“Attend the Gala to acknowledge lifesaving pro-life efforts in our state, support the work of Nebraska Right to Life, and remember the precious lives ended by abortion,” organizers said.
