Immaculate Heart of Mary Counseling Center (IHMCC) in Lincoln offers free trainings, open to all mental health professionals, psychology and related students in undergraduate and graduate programs, priests, and men and women religious.
Training in “Attachment-Based Psychospiritual Resourcing” will be presented Friday, Dec. 6, from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m.
Dr. Peter Martin of IHMCC also recommended “Attachment & Learning How to Love God, Neighbor, Self” by the Interior Integration for Catholics podcast. It is available on YouTube and various podcast platforms. The series includes speakers such as Dr. Martin, Dr. Matthew Walz of Holy Trinity Seminary in Texas, Father Boniface Hicks, Jake Khym, Dr. Bob Schuchts, Father Mike Schmitz, Jason Evert, Dr. Edward Sri, Dr. Gerry Crete, Father Dave Pivonka, Father John Horn, and others.
Episode 156 will be a live question-and-answer session at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12.
IHMCC, formerly part of Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska, is now a separate organization distinct from CSS, and continues to be a lay organization at the service of the Church. The center has moved its office to a new location, 8055 O St., Suite 301, in Lincoln. The organization has a new round of doctoral interns and a new postdoctoral fellow.
“In all of our trainings, we make efforts to include evidence-based modalities as well as Catholic religious / spiritual integration components tailored to client preferences in the applied clinical setting,” Dr. Martin said.
