Southern Nebraska Register
Magnificat of Lincoln plans a prayer meal Saturday, April 26, featuring Anna Sullivan as the guest speaker.
The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Dawson Hall at the John XXIII Diocesan Center, 3700 Sheridan Blvd, Lincoln. The morning includes breakfast, prayer, praise and worship, and Sullivan’s testimony and witness.
Sullivan was raised in a small town in central Nebraska, baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church. She left at the age of 10, going with her maternal grandmother to a Presbyterian Church. In college, she attended a non-denominational church with a popular youth program and committed her life to the Lord. Sullivan will share the story of her journey back to Christ’s Holy Catholic Church during the April 26 Magnificat event.
To attend, register online. The cost is $22 (student price: $15) and the deadline is Saturday, April 19. For more information, text Rhonda Litt at 402.525.6396 or call and leave a message. Dawson Hall is handicap accessible; enter through the east doors of the chapel.
Magnificat is a ministry to Catholic women, a private association of the faithful within the Catholic Church under the jurisdiction of the Lincoln Diocese. Women of other Christian faiths are welcome to attend.
Since the first Magnificat prayer meal in New Orleans in 1981, Magnificat has become an international ministry, with chapters currently located in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Malta, Poland, and Africa. Magnificat of Lincoln, the Morningstar Chapter, held its first prayer meal in 1996.
The primary purpose of Magnificat is to help Christian women become more open to the Holy Spirit through a deeper commitment of their lives to Jesus as Lord and to impart the Holy Spirit to one another by love, service and sharing the good news of salvation.
