The Catholic Diocese of Lincoln is celebrating the Church’s Jubilee Year with a special initiative designed to capitalize on the recent social media success for the diocese and Bishop James Conley.

During the May 8 election of Pope Leo XIV, a video published by the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln reached more than 2 million views across its platforms. The Catholic Diocese of Lincoln YouTube channel has surpassed the 5,000 subscriber milestone. As part of a broader social media outreach campaign, the Jubilee Year summer giveaway invites the public to participate in the celebration of faith and community by supporting social media channels. The giveaway aims to connect more of the lay faithful in the Lincoln Diocese across popular platforms.

The giveaway is simple: participants may use a link and get started. For one entry, visit the diocesan website. For another entry, follow the diocese on Facebook or Instagram. For two entries, follow Bishop James Conley on X, and so on. A participant who has completed each way to enter can then redeem a bonus to add 20 extra entries in his or her name.

The summer giveaway will last through July 31. Two people will be randomly selected as winners.

Corbin Hubbell, the social media coordinator for the Diocese of Lincoln told the Register that while the recent success is positive, it’s not just the analytics that matter, but reaching people.

“This is about more than numbers,” Hubbell said. “It’s about using every tool we have to bring the message of the Gospel and of Christ to more people—and they’re online.”

“We’re grateful for the success we’ve had, and we are looking to grow our online presence and use this momentum to forward the joy of Christ through all of southern Nebraska and beyond,” Hubbell said.
