Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly invites women to attend a weekend retreat based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Sept. 19-21.
The retreat will be led by Father Martin Adams, FSSP, and includes the Traditional Latin Mass. A parallel retreat for men will be Oct. 17-19.
The retreat begins Friday with a rosary and Mass at 8 p.m., and concludes Sunday with lunch at noon. Rooted in the profound structure of St. Ignatius’ classic work, the weekend offers participants a deep journey through salvation history, from the fall of mankind to redemption in Christ. Through guided meditations, Scripture, and silence, retreatants will be invited to encounter Jesus as the answer to the problem of sin and evil in their own lives and in the world.
Father Adams, a priest of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, will lead retreatants through a powerful experience designed to help them discover the ultimate purpose of their lives: to praise, reverence, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. The weekend retreat includes daily Mass, Eucharistic adoration, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the Liturgy of the Hours, spiritual conferences, and ample time for silence.
