Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly invites individuals to step away from the distractions of daily life and rediscover authentic joy at “Living the Good Life,” a weekend retreat led by Father Nicholas Kipper, Feb. 27–March 1.

In a culture filled with competing ideas of happiness and fulfillment, Living the Good Life returns to the Church’s timeless wisdom, inviting participants to explore what it truly means to live well as a follower of Christ. Through engaging talks, prayer and reflection, Father Kipper will guide retreatants in discovering the path to authentic joy rooted in virtue and communion with God.

The retreat will focus on the essential Christian virtues as practical tools for everyday life: faith, hope, charity, prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance. Drawing from Sacred Scripture, the teachings of the saints, and the rich tradition of Catholic theology, participants will be encouraged to examine their own spiritual lives, identify areas for growth, and develop concrete strategies for living virtuously amid modern challenges.

Father Kipper was ordained in 2006 and currently serves as pastor of St. Teresa Parish in Lincoln.

The weekend retreat will begin on Friday with an 8 p.m. Rosary and Mass and conclude on Sunday with Mass and a noon lunch. In addition to in-person participation, a virtual option will be available for those unable to attend on site.

To learn more or to register for the in-person or virtual retreat, visit goodcounselretreat.org or call 402-786-2705.

Volunteer opportunity:  Have you ever wished someone you love would go on retreat? Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House is inviting volunteers to serve as Parish Ambassadors, people who help gently spread the word about retreats and invite others into a place of prayer, rest and renewal. This is a simple but meaningful way to help someone encounter Christ. If you feel called to share the gift of retreat with others, we would love to hear from you. Interested in volunteering?
