The Catholic Diocese of Lincoln has many holy hours for peace scheduled throughout the deaneries (regions) of the diocese.
The holy hours are held in response to the call from Archbishop Paul S. Coakley, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
“The current climate of fear and polarization, which thrives when human dignity is disregarded, does not meet the standard set by Christ in the Gospel,” he said, and as a step toward healing, invited bishops and priests across the United States to offer a Holy Hour for Peace.
Holy hours in the diocese are:
Crete Deanery
Friday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.
Sacred Heart Church in Crete
All are invited to pray for peace and for our nation from 2 to 3 p.m. The hour of Eucharistic Adoration will include readings and the Litany of Peace.
Hastings Deanery
Sunday, March 1 at 3:30 p.m.
St. Cecilia Church in Hastings
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, a Rosary for Peace, time for quiet prayer, and confessions. The Holy Hour concludes with Vespers with Benediction at 4:30 p.m.
Lincoln East Deanery
Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m.
St. Patrick Church in Lincoln
All are invited for Eucharistic Adoration and a prayer service for peace.
Wahoo Deanery
Thursday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m.
St. Wenceslaus Church in Wahoo
Eucharistic Adoration, confessions available, and a prayer service.
Lincoln Central Deanery
Monday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m.
Cristo Rey Church in Lincoln
Eucharistic Adoration and prayer service including the Litany for Peace from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. All are welcome!
Orleans Deanery
Sunday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m.
St. John the Baptist Church in Minden
This Holy Hour for Peace including a prayer service will be held immediately following the Spanish Mass. All are welcome!
York Deanery
Sunday, March 22 from 4 to 5 p.m.
at St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward.
