An upcoming webinar being offered by the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln will highlight ideas about how to share the great things going in diocesan schools, parishes and ministries.
“Promoting Your Parish/School 101: 10 Easy Tactics” will be held Tuesday, April 14. The presentation will run from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. with an extended time for questions or review of marketing pieces until 1:30 p.m. for those who want to remain on the webinar.
The webinar is open to anyone who works with communications at a Diocese of Lincoln organization. Mary Sweeney, the owner and operator of Mary Catherine Marketing, will share strategic ways to communicate a message so that it reaches those the institution wants to hear it.
“I’m excited to share simple tips that help attendees tell their stories more effectively,” Sweeney said. “Our schools, parishes, and ministries are doing incredible work, and it deserves to be heard. I’m grateful to the Communications Office for offering professional development like this across the diocese. It will be a fun, fast-paced workshop where everyone walks away with something valuable.”
Sweeney leads a mission-based marketing firm that specializes in helping nonprofits and small businesses “do more good in the world.” She is an experienced consultant who specializes in helping organizations communicate and market more effectively. Sweeney, her husband and their children are members of St. Joseph Parish in Lincoln.
The workshop is being offered by the Diocese’s Office of Communications as part of its ongoing professional development for those at schools and parishes.
“We hold an in-person workshop for diocesan communicators in the fall and are looking at plans to expand that for 2026,” said Dennis Kellogg, director of communications for the diocese. “This is an additional online offering for the spring and another opportunity for those who are doing the communicating across the diocese to sharpen their skills.”
Those working in communications-related roles for schools, parishes and ministries in the Diocese of Lincoln can register for the free workshop online.
