Father James Morin, rector of St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, is participating in the ‘Pilgrimage across Flatwater’ with six seminarians, walking approximately 375 miles across the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln.
The group visited St. Joseph Parish in Friend May 27-28 during the walking pilgrimage.
Members of the Marian Sisters of the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln were also at St. Joseph in Friend, conducting a parish-wide census of the parish boundaries at the request of pastor Father Kenneth Borowiak. Over the course of several weeks, the Marian Sisters are going door to door to conduct the census. They will also offer resources about the Catholic religion, or direct people to other resources as asked.
Parishioners held a potluck dinner in honor of the visitors. The seminarians toured Friend via golf carts, and got to drive Father Borowiak’s vintage tractors.
