Families of all ages are invited to spend an afternoon of prayer, fellowship, fun, and renewal at “Come to Nazareth: A Day for the Family” Sunday, Aug. 2, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly.

Hosted by the retreat house, the family retreat day will include prayer, talks, Eucharistic adoration, games, activities, and time together in community. The day will conclude with supper and a campfire gathering, with guests encouraged to bring guitars and enjoy fellowship.

The event is designed for the whole family and will feature breakout sessions tailored to different age groups. Therese Fuller will present “Strength in the Family,” recommended for older children and parents, while Josh Burks will lead a session on Mary for grade-school-aged children.

The day begins at 2 p.m. with a welcome and family activity, followed by breakout sessions, a Family Olympics competition at 3:30 p.m. followed by snacks, outdoor Eucharistic procession and adoration at 5 p.m., supper, and campfire fellowship. Participants may depart any time after supper.

Organizers encourage families to wear clothing suitable for outdoor activities, weather permitting. Children under age 4 must remain with parents during all events.
