NORTH PLATTE (SNR) - A mother/daughter program called “Growing Up & Becoming a Woman” will be held Sunday, March 26 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Spiritual Life Center, 415 N. Chestnut St., North Platte.

The free program is designed for 9- to 13-year-old girls and their mothers, grandmothers or guardians. The afternoon is a time set aside to explore the gift of human fertility, and the beauty of growing up and becoming a woman. The program will educate young women about changes in their bodies, while emphasizing the virtue of chastity and sacredness of human life. It includes a discussion on fashionable yet modest clothing.

The purpose of the program is to provide an atmosphere of love and learning to discuss important topics, and to establish a foundation for continued communication between parent/guardian and child. There will be a confidential question-and-answer segment.

The non-denominational program is sponsored by the three Catholic parishes in North Platte, the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Daughters of Charity; the Holy Spirit and St. Patrick Councils of Catholic Women and the North Platte FertilityCare Center.
