LINCOLN (SNR) - A relic of St. John Paul II was in the Diocese of Lincoln Nov. 19-20, available for public viewing and veneration.
The relic of St. John Paul II was brought to the diocese by Sister María José Socias and Sister Guadalupe Hermosillo, from the Miami-based community of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Their community has been entrusted with the relic for one year.
The Sisters visited the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, Cristo Rey (pictured) and Sacred Heart in Lincoln, and Sacred Heart Church in Crete.
At each location, the visit included an English and Spanish talk on the relic, and a bilingual rosary.
The events were sponsored by the Office of Hispanic Ministry of the Diocese of Lincoln, as it seeks to create further integration between Hispanics and non-Hispanics in the Diocese of Lincoln.
