Cathedral of the Risen Christ School is honored to be the very first Junior High School in the city of Lincoln to sponsor a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. NJHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. Students chosen to represent Cathedral have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

The inaugural class of Cathedral School’s National Junior Honor Society was inducted at the conclusion of the annual “Parent Night”, held September 6, 2018. The chapter, which is coordinated by Mr. Mark Simmons and advised by a select committee of Cathedral educators, will meet monthly and conduct activities dedicated to the five ideals of NJHS. Selection for NJHS recognizes students for their accomplishments to this point, while challenging them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. Going forward, these new members of our chapter will serve as role models for other students and within the community.

Mr. Ekeler said, "This is a feather in the cap of our school. To be the first is special, but to have our first class be this strong in all of the core values is simply amazing. We are honored by the NJHS and blessed to work with these students. And thank you to Mr. Simmons for building this program over the course of the last year."
