5th and 6th graders at St. James School in Crete provided the annual Mission Carnival for the rest of the school. Students enjoyed playing games, winning prizes and learning about important historical figures. Students brought in $207 for Mary’s Meals, which will feed about 10 children for a year in third world countries. Money was collected through a “Kiss the Cow” contest. Throughout the week students added money to the “cow bank” of the teacher/staff member that they wanted to win. Mrs. Tranmer, the preschool teacher, was the winner of the contest and had to kiss a cow. She put on some fresh lipstick to play it up! The runners-up petted and hugged the cow.
