On Sunday, October 13th, the T4:12 ministry group from Lourdes took a vocations field trip. Numerous 9-12th graders started their day visiting seminarians and Father Rolling St. Gregory the Great Seminary. We then went to the convent of the Marion sisters to listen to some of the sisters and postulates talk about their spiritual journey. In the late afternoon we went to mass at the Newman Center on UNL’s campus. That evening we ate supper with our very own alumni, Father Steven Mills, and 5 of his college aged parishioners talked to us about how they are finding their faith on campus. We ate supper together and then got back to Nebraska City later that night. We were so blessed to have 6 priests lead us on our journey throughout the day. Father Kaup did all of the planning for our experience, and made sure the kids had a day to remember and reflect upon. Father Salisbury and Father Danek also joined the students. We felt especially blessed to get to have Father Morin spend the day with us, and he and Father Kaup were able to say mass at the Newman Center on the day that Saint John Newman was canonized. It was spectacular, and the students were exposed to all of the different vocations that God may have in mind for their lives.
