McCOOK (SNR) – Supporters of St. Patrick Elementary School in McCook will host the fifth annual G.I.F.T. (Giving Investment For Tomorrow) Gala event March 19 with a Kentucky Derby theme.
The event will be held at St. Patrick School, but the decorating committee will transform the gymnasium into an unrecognizable venue for a fun-filled, elegant evening. The night will begin with a Mass celebrated at 4 p.m., social hour from 5 to 6, games and a silent auction 6 to 7, dinner 7-8, and the live auction at 8 p.m.
G.I.F.T. Gala is organized by St. Patrick Gala committee members Karissa Crawford, Mary Beth Eisenmenger, Bree Frazier, Sarah Gohl, Jody Lytle, Amanda Peterson, Deanna Snyder, Amy Stritt, Shelby Werts, Melissa Wilcox, host couples Greg and Diane Wolfe, and Development Director Shannon Corder. Money raised from the event will support teachers and the operations of the school.
“St. Patrick’s School is rich in tradition and strongly committed to faith and family,” Corder said. “St. Pat’s is a safe, supporting learning environment that has been in the community of McCook since 1918 because of contributions from all of its members. We are thankful for our committed teachers, staff, and dedicated parents who work together to secure a culture of faith and academic excellence.”
Corder said enrollment at St. Patrick School is 143 students in grades kindergarten through eight and another 35 in St. Patrick’s Little Knights preschool.
The events in 2018 and 2019 were successful ventures, with the auction alone raising more than $85,000.
“Unfortunately, in 2020 and 2021, the amount raised was a bit lower due to COVID cancelling both years,” Corder said. “We are looking forward to a successful 2022 event with tickets for only $125 per person with $58 of every purchase going directly to the school.”
