Nebraska Roping Horse Association Scholarship

The Nebraska Roping Horse Association is pleased to announce Madeline DuBois as the winner of the $750 Nebraska Roping Horse Association Scholarship for 2014. Madeline resides in Nebraska City, Nebraska and will graduate from Lourdes Central Catholic High School in May 2014.  She excels academically, holding the rank of number one in her class and scored a 34 on the ACT exam.  She has been involved in student government throughout her high school career, and is involved in many activities including sports, academic decathlon, band, choir, and ministry group. Additionally, Madeline is very involved in community and volunteer service, and spends her summers volunteering as a 4-H camp counselor.

Madeline plans to attend the University of Kansas at Lawrence. Her plans are to enroll in their vigorous Honors Program and major in International Relations with a minor in Spanish, and a focus on Arabic.  Madeline’s goals include a career abroad in the United States Foreign Service as a diplomat.  Additionally, she has a special interest in equine therapy for children with special needs, including Autism. Her hope is after serving a period of time in diplomatic service, to settle down on her own ranch where she can provide this opportunity for children in need.
