St. Patrick School Wins Music Grant
A day after the all school Christmas Program with risers that were collapsing and microphones not working, a representative from the Pearle Francis Finigan Foundation called the school and spoke to the principal, Mrs. Leah Bethune about a $12,000 grant for the St. Patrick Catholic School (Lincoln) Music Department. The principal called the music teacher who literally cried of excitement for the gift. A list was compiled of needed items and amounts and sent to the foundation for approval. The items on the list include choral risers, microphones, an Orff Instrument set, music curriculum, classroom tables, a rug, and funds to help with the restoration of the oldest pipe organ west of the Mississippi. The foundation approved the list and sent a check for the purchase of items. The items have been ordered and are arriving daily. The Orff set was one of the first things to arrive. The students absolutely love the new instruments. These items will not just help contribute to the music education of the students in our school but will pour forth to the entire St. Patrick Parish community.
