Mrs. Brouillette Honored as Teacher of the Month
Cathedral of the Risen Christ technology teacher Mrs. Laura Brouillette has been recognized as the April 2017 Teacher of the Month by the East Rotary Club. She was honored after Mass by the school and then at a luncheon hosted by the Rotary Club on April 12th.
Cathedral Principal Jeremy Ekeler said, "Mrs. B was chosen by the Rotary Club for three reasons. First, she's innovative - always thinking one step ahead in terms of approach and lessons. Secondly, she collaborates with everyone - from K through 8th grade Laura is there to support every class. Finally, she has developed a nationally recognized program that has embraced our Eagle approach of problem-based, 'learn-by-doing'."
Rotary Club representative Wayne Casper said Brouillette was an obvious choice because she brought such a unique resume to the table. "Mrs. Brouillette does everything from manage the Eagle Dash to teach digital citizenship to mold tomorrow's next entrepeneurs. Heck, she may work on all of those things before 10am. She's an amazing example of what education can and should be, and we thank her for all she brings to our area children."
In her acceptance speech Mrs. Brouillette thanked her parents for her work ethic, her husband for his support, and the Cathedral community for embracing her direction and ideas. "It's fun to do the work I do with kids every day. I know I've got this team of supportive and loving people around me. Cathedral - the parish and school - are a family."
