On October 19th the Nebraska Extension Team held a Richardson County “Inventure Day” at Falls City Middle School.  Attending were 7th graders from Falls City Middle School, Sacred Heart and HTRS.  INVENTURE Day is a field day experience where youth come together and work in teams to create a saleable product from a widget; learning entrepreneurial skills throughout the program.  At the end of the day, the teams pitch their idea to investors (local judges) and the judges choose a best product, similar to a “shark tank” pitch.  Throughout the day, they worked through three stations (finance, branding, and target markets).  Sacred Heart School had the top two teams from the day.  For winning the competition, the teams will get to visit the Innovation Campus at in Lincoln where they will participate in innovation activities and see the entrepreneurial and innovation facilities.
