The annual Saints & Scholars dinner was held Oct. 11 in Lincoln.
The annual dinner celebrates the impact of Catholic education and recognizes those who serve students and families throughout the Diocese of Lincoln. Proceeds benefit the Good Shepherd Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition assistance to Catholic school families with financial need across the diocese. During the 2025-26 school year, the fund awarded 1,278 scholarships and distributed $2.3 million in tuition assistance.
Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen and Dr. Vern Steiner, president emeritus of the Emmaus Institute for Biblical Studies, were the event’s featured guest speakers.
Teachers marking anniversaries of serving schools in the Diocese of Lincoln were honored and four educators were selected from more than 200 nominations to receive the 2026 Diocesan Education Awards. Videos showcasing each award recipient are now available on the diocesan YouTube channel, /www.youtube.com/@CatholicDioceseofLincoln.
Nominations for next year’s award recipients will be sought in 2027. Notices will be distributed through the Diocese of Lincoln Catholic Schools and goodshepherdscholarship.com.
