I am elated to announce that Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska will hold its second annual “Summer Eve’s Celebration” at the Whiskey Run Creek Winery in Brownville.
Since we started offering social and emergency services in 2000, we have provided, astonishingly, more than 1.5 million dollars of total assistance to individuals and families in the southeastern sector of the diocese of Lincoln. It is important to remember that the mission of this center is to help needy individuals and families all across the southeastern sector of the diocese, and not just in Auburn. This includes assistance with rent, utilities, food, furniture, appliances, vehicles, grants for clinical counseling and more.
Since opening, our St. Francis Center has expanded significantly. If you have not been able to visit this beautiful campus located in downtown Auburn, we invite you to do so. There you will find a beautiful expanded thrift store, the profits of which are used to help needy individuals and families; a warehouse in the back to support our retail operation; social and clinical offices; and a beautiful chapel with the Blessed Sacrament, dedicated to St. Francis. Clients, staff and volunteers are welcome to make a visit.
We invite you to join us from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Whiskey Run Creek Winery in Brownville, for an evening of wine, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. Also included will be the finest musical entertainment from local musicians who love the Lord. Tickets are $50. All proceeds will be used to help needy individuals and families who live in the southeastern portion of our beautiful diocese. The food will be catered by Marge Wenzl and her gang. If you ever have stayed at the Convent House Bed and Breakfast in Steinauer, you know that the food will be five stars!
We hope many of you will be able to join us as we celebrate what God has done in southeastern Nebraska because of His grace and the generosity our supporters.
