The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage was in North Platte June 16. Bishop James Conley concelebrated Mass with Bishop Joseph Hanefeldt of Grand Island.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in North Platte hosted the June 16 Nebraskaland Days field Mass, celebrated by Father Randall Langhorst. It commemorates the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadors to the region, and the first Catholic Mass believed to be celebrated in the area. The location is now part of North Platte Community College.

Bishop James Conley dedicated the chapel at the new motherhouse of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother in Nebraska City June 15. Bishop James Conley celebrated the Corpus Christi Mass June 2 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly. The Mass marked the completion of a year commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Catholic Center, which includes the retreat house, the Marian Sisters’ Marycrest Motherhouse, and Villa Marie Home and School. The guest homilist was Father Paul Check of LaCrosse, Wisc.

The priests of the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln gathered in Kearney May 27-30 for a convocation, themed “Flourishing as Priests: Body, Mind, and Soul.” Talks were led by Father John Riccardo, a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit and founder of Acts XXIX, an apostolate that aims to proclaim the gospel in an attractive and compelling way, and to equip clergy and lay leaders for the age in which God has chosen them to live.
