Sister Clareth, of the Passionist Sisters from Mexico, is from Costa Rica and serves the Hispanic Community at St. Cecilia Parish in Hastings, with Sister Beatriz Guzman from Mexico
At St. Cecilia Church in Hastings, during October, the month of the Rosary and of the Missions, families gather every day in different homes to pray the Rosary. Each family who hosts also invites their neighbors to their home to pray the Rosary and share a meal. Not only do the nuns participate, but there are also lay collaborators who help us in this parish mission. The month of missions culminates with a Holy Hour and a shared meal at the parish.
We also promote the recitation of the rosary at two other times during the liturgical year with the Hispanic Community. We commemorate the month of May, which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and we present a different devotion to our Blessed Mother each day. As a multicultural community, we celebrate the different devotions, commemorating the specific celebration of each country within the American continent.
We evangelize through the Rosary, connecting with the life of Christ by meditating on its mysteries, which offer us peace and unity and foster an intimate encounter with God that inspires us to live our faith and be His witnesses. We are allowing ourselves to walk with Jesus, guided by the hand of the Virgin Mother, who fills us with her grace, helping us strengthen our faith and opening us up to welcoming into our homes other families with whom we share our stronger popular religiosity.
Also in December, we celebrate the novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe. We continue, holding the hand of the Virgin Mary as a source of loving tenderness that guides us to contemplate Jesus, her beloved son, and fills us with vitality and inner peace. We are a small grain of yeast beginning to grow. Every year, more families join, and we notice how they are also becoming integrated into the parish community. God is doing great wonders through the rosary.

En la Iglesia de Santa Cecilia en Hastings, estamos propiciando el rezo del rosario, en tres momentos diferentes durante el año litúrgico, con la Comunidad Hispana. El mes de Mayo recordando que es dedicado a la Virgen María y presentando cada día una advocación diferente. Al ser comunidad multicultural celebramos las diferentes advocaciones, haciendo memoria de la celebración especifica de cada país, dentro del continente Americano.
Evangelizamos a través del Rosario conectándonos con la vida de Cristo al meditar sus misterios, que nos ofrecen paz y unidad, y fomenta un encuentro íntimo con Dios que inspira a vivir la fe y ser sus testigo. Estamos permitiéndonos caminar con Jesús guiados de la mano de la Virgen Madre, que nos llena de su gracia, ayudándonos a fortalecer nuestra Fe y abrirnos a recibir en nuestros hogares a otras familias con las que compartimos nuestra religiosidad popular, mas fuerte.
Durante Octubre, mes de las misiones, también cada día se reza en diferentes hogares. He invitamos a nuestros vecinos a compartir la fe. No solamente participamos las religiosas sino que también hay colaboradores laicos que nos ayudan en esta misión parroquial, Culminando el mes de las misiones con la Hora Santa y compartiendo los alimentos.
Tambien en Diciembre, celebramos la novena de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, continuamos, tomándonos de la mano de la Virgen María como fuente de ternura amorosa que nos guía a contemplar a Jesús, su hijo muy amado y nos llena de vitalidad y paz interior. Somos un pequeño grano de Levadura que empieza a crecer. Cada año, son más las familias que se unen, y nos damos cuenta como también se van integrando a la comunidad parroquial. Dios esta haciendo grandes maravillas a través del rosario.
